Gravity Drainage System
Old age conventional roof drainage system is an open system working on gravity flow principal that always carries air in the pipes along with the water. As a result, the pipes are usually only half-filled of water even during periods of heavy rainfall where the Horizontal flow is induced by providing slope in piping network.
This conventional planning has proved unsupportive with frequent heavy rainfall that we have been experiencing nowadays because of its lower drainage capacity, complex installation of leakage prone piping network.
Siphonic Drainage System
Siphonic roof drainage system is made up of special outlets that incorporate an anti-vortex plate / baffle plate that prevents air entering into the pipes. The absence of air in the system allows it to run 100% full of water making use of the entire pipe section and vastly increasing flows that are 10 times faster when compared to conventional drainage systems. High velocity & downward pull of the water in the vertical downpipe generate the vacuum in horizontal piping, thus the water is sucked or siphoned from the roof making the drainage process fast and efficient. The entire system is designed and installed using siphonic principal by balancing velocities, friction, negative pressure and drain rate.
